Much needed run

Wasn’t able to get any workouts in on a long East coast trip, and was too slammed to get to the gym the first two games back. Saw a brief window to spend 20 minutes on the treadmill and took it. Was willing to start nice and slow, until ultimately closing at my usual pace. Wasn’t much but felt great.

Hoops - Satisfying win

Started with four, and as always, the short-handed team actually does better for that brief period of time. Teams played close for the first half but those younger boys ranĀ  out of gas early in the second half, and we put them away. I had a decent game–scored 8 or 10.

Tremendous Outdoor Run

Well, I don’t know where that came from.

Got outside today and a cold but mostly sunny February day and did the usual four miler up Westlake (the path across the bridge is now open again). Pretty sure it’s my first time doing 4 miles since New year’s day. Morever, after quite a bit of slow running (which I had come to peace with BTW) I turned in a rather blistering pace. Part of that was because I had a mandatory 5 minute break at the 2 mile mark, being caught by the Fremont Bridge going up. But that wasn’t all of it by any means. I kept a good steady pace throughout, and never thought of stopping at any point. Even so, I was astonished to run four miles at a pace that low. I’m guessing it has been a couple years since I did that.

Treadmill Run in Cupertino

Had about 30 minutes between work and meeting someone for a drink, and decided that (a) one mile on the treadmill would be better than nothing at all, and (b) I probably wouldn’t manage to do better if I waited until the next morning. As it is, I managed 1.5.

Hoops! Monster Double-Header

Double-header tonight. I went in pleading that I might not be able to run that much, and wound up running a lot, as I felt pretty great. Of the two hours of game time I’d say I played 1.5. I didn’t play very well, mind you, but we were short bigs and I played center the whole time without disgracing myself overmuch. Unfortunately we lost both games. Probably we should have one at least one of them, but I’m not sure which one.

After hurting myself last Friday, decided to take a break from the running, even though things felt ok. Twenty minutes on the elliptical and its modern remix, then some bench press and lat pulls.

I guess I should not have been out there today. Tried to run outside, though feeling a bit sore, and had to abandon the project at about the 1.25 mark because my calf was too sore. Ran/walked back to SLU park, which explains the overall quite slow time. Need to rest it a bit.
